Dr Laurent BAZINET studied agro-food at the École Supérieure d’Agriculture in Angers (France) where he obtained his agricultural engineering degree in 1993. He continued is university studies at Université Laval (Quebec city, Quebec) where he obtained a master's degree (1994) and a Ph.D. (2000) in Food sciences and technology. Since July 2022, he is a teacher in the Department of Food sciences at Université Laval where he teaches the engineering of industrial food processes. Dr Bazinet holds the Research Chair in partnership on the Integrated Valorization of co-products by ecoefficient Food Technologies within the framework of a Circular Economy (VITALE Chair). Dr Bazinet's research interests focus on the study of electrodialytic phenomena and their impact on food compounds and their health benefits. Dr Bazinet has published over 245 peer-reviewed articles and presented over 430 presentations and posters. Finally, according to an independant bibliometric study published at the end of 2016 and covering all the articles in the field of electrodialysis over the past 24 years, Dr Bazinet, according to the Hirsch index, was ranked 3rd worldwide in is research field.
